All ages together prepare food bags for people who are homeless

God’s work, our hands Sunday,” September 8th: Lutheran churches across the country celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America by engaging in a project that would benefit the local community.  Here at St Luke, we prepared bags of non-perishable food that could be handed out to people who are homeless and living on the street, through our partner Lutheran Social Services.  You could feel an excitement in the air, as all ages really came together to work towards something we feel passionate about.  The pictures below tell the story. We brought enough food to fill 44 paper bags!

Kids participated by filling bags or personalizing them with beautiful paintings and messages.

Walkers aren’t just for getting around – they make a nice little shelf to put your bag on as you fill it full of food!  (See below)

After the bags were filled and as the paint was drying, we held hands and prayed for all those who would receive them.
